The Subculture in Berlin has given Joy a sense of belonging in a community. These urban and club dance styles taught Joy another level of expressing herself.
Her participation in several dance battle events as a dancer and jury such as the organization of cypher sessions (like the Open Forum session made her celebrate and embrace this way of exchange.
Her experience and knowledge within these cultures has also an effect on her way of creating movement and teaching philosophies.
